  • A&K Costume Hire – Now The Costume Club is an Aussie family owned and operated business.  A&K Costume Hire was first opened in 1986 by Alan and Kathy Harding (explains the A & K right).  Now the business is in the hands of their son Justin Harding with a new and fresh look ‘The Costume Club’.  It’s always best to support your local Aussie business!


How to hire

  1. Find a costume

  2. Visit or call us

  3. Try on the outfit

  4. Either book in advance or take with you on the day

  5. Hire agreement is filled out (ID REQUIRED)

  6. All hire costumes have suit bag to help protect costume

  7. Take good care of the outfits

  8. Return hire and suit bag back to our store

How we clean our costumes

  1. All returns are put through a special sanitising wash through our commercial grade front loader washing machine.

  2. Then put through a detergent and fabric softening wash.

  3. Then dried and Ironed fresh.

Never has it been more important to take extra care when cleaning our costumes to prevent any spread of COVID-19. We take our costume cleaning regime very seriously to maintain safety.

How much is your average hire price?

Our average Adult ire price (Including accessories) is $60.50

Our average Children’s hire price (Including Accessories is $38.50

Is there a Security Bond on a Hire?

Yes, We have a flat $20 security bond for our hires. This is refunded on return.

Can I hire a costume for longer than a week?

Yes, You may hire any costume(s) as long as you like.
For any hire over a week period will be charged 1 extra fee of hire the original hire price.

What if I’ve damaged or stained the hire costume?

This is handled on a case by case basis. Worst case you will lose your deposit and potentially have to pay a replacement fee.
Generally if it is just a small food or drink stain we are experts on removing and you will not be charged.

I’ve changed my mind on the hire costume?

If you have booked the costume in advance and decide you no longer wish to hire it or can no longer attend the party then your full hire price will be refunded. There is a $10 servicing fee charge.
If you have collected the hire costume however and wish to return it after leaving the premises unfortunately you will not receive a refund.

Do you have Plus Size costumes?

Yes, we do have a limited selection of costumes to fit up to womens size 20+ and mens 5-6XL.

How long is the process to hire a costume?

On an average the entire process would take around 20-30mins.

Do you have costumes and accessories available to purchase in store?

We certainly do! We have a large range of Makeup, Accessories, Costumes, Props available for in store purchase.
